Health Clinic
A registered nurse is available for first aid, referrals to medical services, screening tests for blood pressure, weight, pregnancy testing and counseling, and Mantoux tests for students whose programs require them.

Available to support students and help them to achieve their educational goals .

Serves as a campus-wide resource that offers an inclusive space, provides services, programs, and initiatives to support student success, and promote academic achievement

Gender Inclusive Restrooms

Century College is committed to ensuring all staff, faculty, students, and visitors, have access to safe, accessible restrooms on East and West campus. Gender inclusive restrooms are restrooms designed for everyone, but can specifically be helpful for:

• Transgender and gender non-conforming communities
• Families/parents with children
• Those with special needs

As gender inclusive restrooms are limited, students who feel safe are protected under Title IX to utilize restrooms that best align with their gender identity. There are ongoing efforts to increase the number of gender inclusive restrooms and locker rooms.

Are there all gender/single stall restrooms available on campus?

There are all gender/single stall restrooms on both East and West campuses:

• East: E1219, E1337, E1597, E1604, E2219, E2324, E2604, E3353, E3354, E3604
• West: 1st floor next to the Loading Dock; 2nd floor next to the Fishbowl Conference Room

Why are all gender or single stall bathrooms important?

Everyone has the right to use the bathroom without fear! Besides reinforcing gender norms, bathrooms that are clearly marked as male/female force many individuals to enter bathroom environments that they consider uncomfortable and unsafe. People face discrimination daily for entering marked bathrooms containing other individuals who perceive their gender to be variant from the social norm. Increasing awareness and identifying the locations of gender-safe bathrooms will prevent people from being threatened by violence and harassment.

Policies

Century College is a campus that welcomes all students and is committed to their success. As students, employees, and the community, we pledge to work towards social action and dismantling structural racism. Regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, immigrant status or disability, we celebrate, support, and embrace learners of diverse communities.

Both Century College and Minnesota State Colleges & Universities have policies in place to ensure students and staff alike feel safe and validated while navigating their respective institution.

Preferred Name Policy

A preferred name is a name that a person has chosen to identify themselves within Century College and the Minnesota State system that is different, in whole or in part, from their legal (birth) name.

Century College and all Minnesota State colleges shall use preferred names for e-mail address, online directory, class rosters, identification badge, and other functions where technically and legally possible.

Students looking to change their preferred name can request to do so at the Records Office (West Campus, floor 2). Or fill out the Preferred Name Request form and turn in to the Records Office.

Title IX

Title IX has become a powerful tool on college campuses for combatting sexual offenses and gender discrimination. While Title IX is widely known for its role in opportunities in athletics, the arm of Title IX reaches farther to affect pregnant, gender non-conforming, and any other student that feels opportunities, services, and environments were altered because of their gender.

Pronouns

Currently there is no official policy regarding pronouns. If you are having issues in class, with peers, or elsewhere on campus you can reach out to Rosa Rodriguez.
