Sex Offender Notification
In accordance to the Adam Walsh Child Protection and Safety act of 2006 (42 U.S.C 16921), which requires institutions of higher education to issue a statement advising the campus community where law enforcement information provided by a State concerning registered sex offenders may be obtained.
Using this public information to threaten, intimidate or harass sex/kidnap offenders will not be tolerated. This abuse could potentially terminate our ability to release this important information to the public.
The Minnesota Department of Corrections discloses information on the public registrant search website regarding individuals who are required to register under Minnesota Statutes 243.166 or 243.167 who are also subject to public notification according to Minnesota Statutes 244.052 or 253D.32. The law enforcement agency responsible for disclosing information determines, on a case-by-case basis, what information to disclose. The Minnesota Department of Corrections posts information to this website within 48 hours of receiving authorization from law enforcement.
