Financial Aid

Complete your financial aid application/FAFSA for the 2022-23 school year. Allow for one week of processing before your financial aid application is available for processing at Century College.

Fall Semester is just around the corner and you apply for financial aid every year. So, complete your financial aid application/FAFSA for the 2023-24 school year now so you are ready for Fall Semester. Early estimated financial aid awards will be processed every week starting in March 2023. Official financial aid awards will be available in early July 2023.

Keep in touch with the Financial Aid department regarding the status of your financial aid application. You can view your status in your eServices account, you can call the office at 651-779-3305, or you can stop by the office at W2201.

Fall financial aid will begin posting to your student account on September 5. Your spring bill will need to be paid in full by February 17, 2023.

Scholarships

Century College offers a variety of scholarships to our students. To apply for scholarships, please use this helpful page to get the scholarship application, get help with your scholarship application, and learn about future scholarship opportunities. Don’t miss out on “FREE” money!

All students can use the Century College Bookstore to get your books for their classes. Bring your class schedule and student ID card to the Bookstore located on the West campus in room 1240. You can use either a financial aid voucher or a promissory note to charge your books to your billing account and pay for your books by the billing due date.

2. Contact the Advising and Counseling office if you need help selecting courses.
3. Register for classes.

Summer Term Registration

PSEO is a program that runs only in the Fall & Spring semesters. If you are interested in taking a class during Summer Term, please follow the steps below.

IMPORTANT: Failure to follow the steps below will result in your classes being dropped for Summer Term & you will be held financially responsible for all tuition, fees, and textbooks.

1. Apply online to the Supplemental Enrollment Program (all tuition, fees, and textbooks/supplies are the sole responsibility of the student).You will use your current StarID to log into the application

• Select “Apply to Another Institution” to reroute back to the start of the application
• Select “Summer Term 20xx”
• Select that you are a current high school student

2. Once your application is processed, you’ll be emailed an acceptance letter
3. Register for your class(es)

Graduating Seniors Registration Checklist

1. Submit the online Century College application. No $20 application fee required! Use promotion code: PSEOAPP at the end of the application.
2. No orientation required!
3. Register for classes during your priority registration timeframe.

How to return your textbooks:

1. Bring your textbooks to the bookstore pick up window
2. Complete the form found here and mail us your textbooks
3. Drop your books in the Drop Box next to the curb outside the Main Entrance (W1) on West Campus

When a class is full, you have the option to add yourself to its waitlist to be notified if a seat becomes available. The wait list is shut off the night before the first day of the semester. Wait listing is not available for late start courses.

If you want to register for more than 18 credits, you will need to complete an Exceed Maximum 18 Credit Limit Appeal form for approval by the Registrar.

Adding a Course(s)

Courses may be added the first 5 days of spring and fall semesters (an instructor’s signature is required after the third day) and the first 3 days of the summer session (an instructor’s signature is required on the Add/Drop/Withdraw form once the class has started). You are required to pay all tuition and fees for any registered courses.

Adding Courses Throughout the Semester

You may add courses that start later in the semester (such as courses in Session II or III) before the course begins without instructor approval. After a class has already started, late adds will be processed only with the approval/signatures of the instructor on the Add/Drop/Withdraw form.

Dropping a Course(s)

You may drop a course during the first 5 days of fall, spring and summer semesters. Full refunds are only available prior to the term start or during the five-day drop period each term for courses starting the first week, except as specified in the Refund Policy. You may drop a late start/fast track course only through the day after the first scheduled class day to receive a full refund.

Withdrawing from a Course(s)

Course withdrawals (“W” grades) begin on the sixth day of the term, unless noted otherwise in the course schedule. For late start/fast track courses, withdrawals begin two days after first scheduled date. The last day to withdraw date varies; it displays on students online schedule and on the course search details. See the Refund Policy for details.

Classes that you have withdrawn from become part of your permanent record and will appear on your transcript.

*Instructors signatures are not required within the withdrawal deadline.

• You should withdraw after you stop attending a course or you will likely receive a grade of “F” or “FW” (faculty withdrawal).
• If you withdraw after 20 days, you can visit until final exam week with the instructor’s approval.
• Withdrawals do not influence GPA, but negatively impact academic progress.

If extenuating circumstances prevent you from withdrawing by the deadline, you may fill out a Late Withdrawal Petition form in the Business Office, Room 2340, West Campus or Records Office, Room 2220, West Campus. Additional documentation may be required.

Important: There are four ways you can add, drop or withdraw from a course:

• Login to the eServices
• In-person at the Records Office with your StarID or student ID
• Written request with your signature by U.S. mail received prior to the deadline.
• Fill out the Add/Drop/Withdraw form online and email the form to records@century.edu from your Century email.

Please note: A telephone message request is not considered a valid processing method.

Since withdrawing from a class can impact your academic progress, we recommend that you consult with a Century College advisor/counselor before your make your final decision. Poor academic progress may lead to academic probation and eventually suspension. It may also impact your financial aid. Please familiarize yourself with the Satisfactory Academic Progress for Financial Aid.

You are required to pay tuition and fees unless you drop classes by the deadline. Century College will not drop courses for non-attendance. Faculty withdrawal or FN (faculty reported never attended) grades are not eligible for refunds. See the Refund Policy for details.

Senior Citizens must be:

• 62 years or older
• a legal resident of Minnesota

If you register before the first day of class, you must pay full tuition and fees. If you register for credit the day on or after the first day of class, you will be charged fees per credit with no tuition charges. Senior Citizens auditing a course will be charged reduced fees per credit. If applicable, students will be responsible for any special course fees.
