The Century Bundle

The Century Bundle is a course material model that lowers the cost of materials for students in Century College courses. It ensures students have access to all their required course materials on or before the first day of class.

Through this new program, physical books will be conveniently packaged and provided to students on a rental basis, and digital materials will be delivered directly within the D2L Brightspace.

Costs will be assessed at $25.00 per credit hour for all courses registered in the term. At the end of the term, students will receive email reminders to return their physical course materials to the bookstore.

• Register for your classes, and the bookstore will start preparing your course materials.
• One month before classes start, you will receive a verification email sent to your Century College Student email instructing you to select your delivery preference (in-store pickup or shipped directly to you). This email will also list the available format(s) for materials required for your class, such as digital or hard-copy books.
• An email notification will be sent to your Century College Student Email account when your order is ready for pickup or when it ships.
• Your digital materials will be delivered for your course(s) within D2L Brightspace.

The program provides eligible students with all required textbooks, lab manuals, access codes, and digital materials.

When a student receives the selection email one month before the start of the course, the email will verify their course schedule and list if the material is a physical item or digital item delivered through the D2L Brightspace.

Courses that earn what is known as credit hours at Century College are part of The Century Bundle, including courses taken by dual-enrolled students. Regardless of course material selection, all courses at Century College with an associated credit hour status will be assessed the $25 per credit hour charge. That charge will not be the responsibility of the dual enrollment student, with the exception of Post-Secondary Enrollment Options (PSEO) course materials. 916 students??

Currently, NOT included in The Century Bundle are courses for programs in continuing education, and non-credit-based programs. These three categories are excluded from the program. 

The Century Bundle program will cost $25 per credit hour for the Summer 2025 session and the academic year 2025-2026.

For example, course materials for students taking 15 credits per semester would cost $375 per semester. Based on their course selection, students can expect to save between 35% and 50% each term.

When fees are assessed for a term’s registered courses, the charges will be listed on your Student Account as The Century Bundle.

You will make the payment according to the balance due as of the payment deadline.

If a student opts out, a credit will be applied to your account.

Students who opt-out will be responsible for purchasing their required course materials through the Campus Bookstore.

Yes, if you withdraw from a course after the part of the session’s Add/Drop deadline, you will be charged for the materials associated with that course. If you drop the course prior to the deadline, you will receive credit for the materials associated with that course.

In the event that you add another course during the Add/Drop period, or if you swap a course in a later, shorter term, such as a Session II & Session III late starts, you will be charged for all newly registered credit hours.

If you drop a class, and it ultimately results in a credit to your student account, refund processing is done every week after the first disbursement of financial aid for each part of the semester.

While The Century Bundle provides convenient and affordable access to all required course materials, students have the option to opt out of this program each semester. This option will be available to all students prior to the beginning of each major term (fall, spring, and summer).

The opt-out period for each term normally opens on the Monday (at 12:01 AM) of the same week that fees are due for the full term (the fee due date will be on a Thursday that same week) and closes at 11:59 PM on the day when the drop period ends. The fee due date and the Drop deadline for each term can be found in the Need-to-Know section of the Registering for Classes page.

Your decision to participate or opt out of The Century Bundle using the online opt-out system is for the entire semester, including any part-of-term sessions also on your schedule that start later.

If you decide to opt back in during a term’s opt in or out period, follow the instructions in the question below about changing your status.

Students who opt-out will need to obtain their required textbooks, lab manuals, access codes, and digital materials. If a student elects to opt-out of The Century Bundle, it is their responsibility to review and confirm the title and ISBN number for all course materials purchased outside of the program. Students can find this information about their required course materials on the Bookstore website.

The process for deciding whether to opt out of The Century Bundle if you are ONLY taking short-term courses depends on when you register for those classes.

If you have registered for the short-term courses after that online opt-out access ends, then you can contact the bookstore directly, and they will assist you with opting out.

It’s important to know that following the process below to request a temporary credit is NOT a substitute for opting out of The Century Bundle through the online system or by contacting the bookstore if it’s for a later part-of-term course. You must follow through and actually opt out following the process and timeframe explained in the questions above.

***A completed FDR Notification of Intent to Opt Out form can be filled out to request an immediate temporary credit for the Titan First Day Ready charges on your account. The completed form must be emailed as an attachment to studentaccounts@easternflorida.edu.

The form indicates that you intend to opt out using the online system when it’s available or will contact the bookstore if it’s a later term course and that you will complete that process before the opt-out period deadline to avoid the charges being reversed back to your outstanding account balance.

Remember: Submitting the Notification of Intent to Opt-Out form is NOT a substitute for opting out through the online system or by contacting the bookstore if it’s for a later part-of-term course.

OPT IN or OUT Site: The Century Bundle

Remember the link ONLY works when an opt out or in period is open. Please note you must make your final selection by the end of the Add/Drop period for the term. See more details on this in the first question in this section of the FAQ.

If you have already received your materials before you dropped the course, you may simply return the book to the Bookstore within 48 hours. (The 48-hour period is calculated based on days when the Bookstore is open). If you drop a class and enroll in a different class, the bookstore will “swap” the required textbooks or access codes to ensure that you have what you need for your current course schedule.

If a course is added, you will receive an email to your student email instructing you to confirm your schedule change and select your delivery preference (in-store pickup or shipped directly to you). The email will be from notification@materials.bncollege.com. An email notification will be sent when your order is ready for pickup or when it ships.

Students who register at one time for classes in multiple parts of the semester can pick up all physical textbooks at the same time unless a course in a shorter session is added later.

Digital materials for shorter sessions that begin after the full-term start date will be available in the D2L Brightspace when the shorter-term class starts.

The Century College Bookstore works directly with the faculty who submit their required course materials for the courses they are facilitating.

No. Z-Degree??

Students are given the opportunity to review their individual course materials and opt out of the program every semester. All credit-hour courses at Century College are part of The Century Bundle, and faculty do not have the ability to opt their courses out of the program.

The Direct Digital program that was in effect at Century College through Spring Semester 2025 featured material access for only select courses, and students could opt out or in for each individual course.

The Century Bundle applies to ALL of the courses a student has registered for during a term. If a student opts out of the program, they will have opted out for every course—and will have sacrificed the 35% to 50% cost savings on materials.
