Accessible and Inclusive Experiences

The Access Center ensures that all Century College programs, services, and activities are accessible to everyone. We work with students to better understand how their unique conditions/disabilities may impact their learning experience. Our goal is to support students by providing reasonable accommodations to eliminate barriers that exist in the current learning environment.

Register with the Access Center

We welcome all students experiencing disability-related barriers to complete an Intake Application. We will follow up to discuss reasonable accommodations the student may be eligible for and guide the student on how to use them.

No paperwork? Please meet with us! Sometimes, students have questions about whether they can have accommodations without documentation. Our priority is to meet with you. We will talk about a plan during the Intake Appointment.

How to set up accommodations in three steps:

  1. Complete the online application in our AIM
  2. Submit documentation
  3. Meet with Access Center Staff

Current Students Registered with the Access Center

Your registration with the Access Center for accommodations provides equitable opportunities. We are excited to support you on your journey as a Century College student!

Here are a few reminders for you as a registered Access Center student

  • If you are already registered with the Access Center and eligible for accommodations, you do not need to meet with Access Center staff for another Intake Appointment to request your accommodations.
  • You need to submit your accommodation requests using AIM each semester that you are enrolled in class(es) to receive your accommodations. We are here to help you with the process.
  • We recommend that you request your accommodations before the semester starts to maximize the benefits of your accommodations throughout the semester.
  • Accommodations are not retroactive. This means that you will receive your accommodations from the time that your faculty receives the Accommodation Notification Letter. Your accommodations cannot be applied to tests, assignments, or issues that occur before this date.

Concerns and Complaints

At Century College, we take complaints seriously and have established processes to investigate and resolve them. If students have concerns regarding program access or denial of accommodations, they should discuss these issues with the Access Center director. For those who wish to appeal a denied accommodation request or program access, the Student Complaint Process outlined below can be used.  It is important to file complaints in a timely manner, and while they are typically submitted in written form, this is not a requirement.
