Access Center ASL and CART Services

• Email the Access Center at access.center@century.edu and please include Amelia Carlson, Accommodations Coordinator, amelia.carlson@century.edu ASAP if you are running late but will still be attending class.
• ASL interpreters will wait 15 minutes past the start time of a 50-minute (or longer) class.

If you are going to miss class, please email the Access Center at access.center@century.edu/a> and please include Amelia Carlson, Accommodations Coordinator, amelia.carlson@century.edu ASAP so that the ASL interpreter can be cancelled.

The Accommodations Coordinator will notify students via their Century College email address of who will be their ASL interpreters.

No. Any student who needs an ASL interpreter for a college-affiliated program, event, or activity will have this service provided to them by Century College.

It is the Access Center’s goal to have a consistent ASL interpreter assigned to a student’s course for the duration of the semester. The earlier a student requests their accommodations, the higher likelihood they will have a consistent ASL interpreter. However, it is not guaranteed.

• All students requesting ASL services must first be enrolled with the Access Center. Please refer to the Access Center’s website for instructions on how to apply.

Register with the Access Center

• Once a student is enrolled with the Access Center, they will need to request their accommodations in AIM.
• It is highly encouraged students request their accommodations ASAP after they’ve registered for classes.

Century College contracts out with third-party interpreting agencies such as Keystone Interpreting Solutions (KIS) and American Sign Language Interpreting Services (ASLIS).
