Century College counselors help students achieve their goals. We support their growth as learners and help when needed. Connect with a counselor via appointment, an event, phone, or email. Use the button below to schedule an appointment through Starfish or call 651-444-2100. Learn more about services below.

What is shared with a counselor is kept private. Exceptions include:
  • An intent to hurt yourself or someone else is expressed
  • A report of abuse or neglect of a minor (someone under the age of 18 years old) or a vulnerable adult is shared
  • There is a court order for the records
  • Professional consultation

Personal Counseling Services

We help students build skills to navigate college and personal challenges. This can include connecting to campus and community resources for additional help. We support student well-being and success. We help students focus on solutions. This is often done through appointments, crisis triage, referrals, and group sessions.

Basic Needs


Academic Counseling Services

We help students plan academic goals. This includes selecting programs of study and courses. This can also include planning for transfer and other transition assistance. We intervene when students are struggling with school and make referrals to other support services when needed. Counselors differ from advisors:

Assist students with:

  • Course selection and registration
  • Creating an academic plan
  • Planning for transfer
  • Academic related questions
  • Intervene when academic performance is at risk
  • Make referrals to academic and student support services

Also provide the following services and support:

  • Personal counseling, crisis intervention, and support
  • Referrals for long-term therapy
  • Career counseling and career assessment
  • Basic needs support
  • Applying for emergency resources

Academic Support

  • Academic Support: includes resources centers, peer tutoring, online tutoring, and TRIO Support Services
  • EdReady: assessment and view reading, writing, and math skills
  • Khan Academy: content review of many academic subjects and life skills
  • Crash Course: mini-lessons on various academic topics

Career Counseling Services

Many students are unsure about their path to college and career. We help students explore their options. This includes how a student’s interests, values, skills, personality, and life circumstances relate to their career choices. Mental Health Resources


Holistic Well-being

  • Student Wellness: tips, services, and resources for the various areas of wellness.
  • Self-Regulation LibGuide: list of free resources including breathing to sooth the nervous system, yoga and managing stress
  • Student Health Clinic: most services are free, staffed by Registered Nurse and physician available twice a month
  • Campus Life: connect more to campus through student life, the fitness center, performing arts, and more
